Cassie began Darling + Vintage during a tough period of her life. She’d made the decision to leave New York - a city she’d always longed for - and with that a career in retail that spanned over a decade. Feeling a bit lost but certain that there was something out there for her, she took a moment to breathe. She returned to the U.K., she painted and she embarked on a 500 mile pilgrimage across Europe. Through it all she knew she was looking for something. Something creative. Something unique that represented her personality and passion. Vintage has been that passion for longer than she can remember, so she launched D+V and the rest is slow-motion dancing history.
“Vintage clothing - the sourcing, the styling, the history - has always been there for me and that moment of uncertainty gave me the opportunity to pursue it properly. So something good came out of something bad and here I am.
I hand pick every piece of vintage you see, caring for them, mending them and laundering them. I wake up thinking of vintage and I go to sleep thinking of vintage. She is my happy place and I hope that comes across, rubbing a little bit of that happiness in your direction along with it.”
