Super rare 1970’s polka dot maxi dress with Angel sleeves, likely to be by the English designer, Gina Fratini. I’m doubtful as to whether I will come across one like this ever again!

Absolutely stunning dress by British designer Gina Fratini. No label present, but please see documented photo of an extremely similar dress from the 70’s advert for Gina Fratini at Selfridges. I’ve also done extensive research and have found that this similar polka dot voile fabric was used in other Fratini designs.

As stated in the documented photo, it is Swiss voile- a very lovely sheer, gauzy material likely to be cotton. The bodice of the dress sits at the bust, and flows from there. There is an incredible amount of fabric, with no expenses spared at the frilled sleeves and hem line. There are blue velvet trims- one at the bust, and a tie at the back of the dress. It is lined on the top part of the dress only, so likely you’d need a slip/ body underneath. Zipper and press studs at the back fastening. 

Excellent vintage condition. One small hole on the inner lining, see photo.
